We are pleased to share an invitation to an online event being organised by SSPS:
Thought-provoking discussions about equality, diversity and inclusion are a critical part of problem-solving and decision-making. They help us determine values and explore moral and ethical opinions, and can help delineate where problems and imbalances of power exist.
The Talk Equity! programme is a series of equality, diversity and inclusion themed panel discussions and symposiums taking place throughout 2025. Dr Simon Obendorf, from the School of Social and Political Sciences, will chair a discussion on the use of inclusive language.
Topics will cover: what inclusive language means to you, becoming confident in using inclusive language, and what inclusive language means in the wider context of the University’s One Community values.
The discussion will take place on 26 February at 12.30pm – 2pm on Teams and will include a 30 minute Q&A giving participants opportunity to ask questions and engage with the discussion.
