LSHH EDI Committee

At the University of Lincoln and within all our programmes, we value, welcome and support difference and diversity in all its forms. We respect each other and this helps to create an inclusive environment, where both staff and students can work and study together without fear of experiencing bullying, harassment, victimisation or discrimination. Discrimination and hate in any form are not tolerated.

About the Committee

Students across all programmes, at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Postdoctoral levels,
interested in collaborating with the REEC/EDI are welcome. To find out more, please contact either the EDI Student Committee/SEDIC (sedichh@lincoln.ac.uk) or the EDI
Co-Chairs for the School of Humanities and Heritage, Dr Erin Bell and Dr Laura Gill.

Our commitment is to:

    EDI issues and concerns.
  • Provide a forum to identify, celebrate and share best EDI practice.
  • Promote, monitor and maintain EDI as a standing item and overarching priority in
    all our activities and agendas.
  • Develop and implement an EDI strategy for the School that aligns with the CoA
and UoL’s widest aims and commitments, including ‘One Community’, Athena
SWAN, LEAP, the Race Equality Charter and the Respect Charter.
  • Share information about policies, initiatives and principles of Equality, Diversity
and Inclusion among staff, students and external contacts.
  • Encourage and promote extra-curricular and outreach activities for staff and
students that engage with EDI issues
  • Embed EDI principles in our teaching and learning practice and in our curriculum
    development.
